Definitely agree with you on the Odd Future comparison. Chance seems to own his sound rather than fabricate it, which is more poetic than necessary, but it speaks to his authenticity and puts him heads and shoulders above other gimmicky off the beaten path rappers out there right now. The verdict's still out on him, but his mixtape is hot and dude's versatility as a lyricist combined with that accesible production like you mentioned keeps his ceiling pretty high. I also think Chance is onto something big. He's got a sound I feel hip-hops been missing for a while, appealing to all the kids who don't like the trap style artists. It's a little more relevant than the Odd Future in my opinion, as it's a lot more melodic, and generally listenable (haha.)

You should also check out Amplifiers (facebook.com/amplifiersmake... out of Pittsburgh, PA too. Casey worked with them directly after K Sera on their new upcoming album that is coming out on April 13th. Rumor has it that Casey did some singing and instrumentation on it too...pretty pumped for it. The singer also built a sweet baritone guitar for Casey like the one he uses, there's pictures all over their page about it. I can't believe more people aren't talking about these guys as well.

That Saosin/Anberlin/Acceptance tour was incredible. Was able to catch it in LA while on vacation from Australia. Still one of the best shows I've ever been to.

Thanks! Yeah, that Take Cover tour was pretty awesome. I think Paramore was even on some of the stops. Anberlin is always great, but that tour was one of the last times where Cove killed it for Saosin. I'm hoping they can still do great things with Tilian.

Great article! It's almost like you read my mind and had the same experiences.
I saw them play during the take cover tour and truck stops and statelines tour the best shows of the 2000's. I wish I could have seen them play with anberlin and saosin for they are still my favs.
